USA Basketball chairman Jerry Colangelo has been hired by the franchise as chairman of basketball operations and an adviser to ownership, the team announced Monday.

Colangelo made his reputation as a team builder after more than four decades of work with the Suns. More recently, he has helped rebuild USA Basketball after its bronze-medal finish in the 2004 Summer Olympics. The team has won consecutive gold medals (2008 and 2012) and FIBA World Championships (2010 and 2014) since he took over in 2006.

Colangelo will have his work cut out for him as the Sixers own the NBA’s worst record at 1-20.

Despite Philadelphia’s horrendous start, the franchise isn’t expected to fire coach Brett Brown, according to Yahoo Sports. In fact, there is reportedly talk of extending his contract.

Brown’s record in two-plus seasons with the team is 38-147.
