RELATED: Thor: Love And Thunder - Things That Could Come Next

The answer to that is complicated as is usual for Marvel. It might be one of those things where fans will get more out of Thor: Love and Thunder once the big Thanos-like event happens. Then they can exclaim “oh” as they discover little Easter Eggs from this movie. So, with full spoilers on, let’s try to at least figure out some things this movie left on the table.

8 The Sentience Of Stormbreaker And Mjolnir

Were these two weapons always sentient or was that changed just for Thor: Love and Thunder. The comedy bits involving Stormbreaker being jealous over Thor ogling Mjolnir once again are admittedly funny. However, since they weren’t sentient before it does bring a few questions to mind. This phase of the MCU does seem to favor the idea of sentient weapons in general. The villainous Necrosword, for example, also shows signs of being alive. Will there be other weapons in the future that talk or show some signs of emotion?

7 What Was Jane’s Final Catchphrase?

As Jane is dying at the end of the universe, she brings Thor close to tell him her final catchphrase. Her search for the perfect catchphrase was one of the funnier jokes in Thor: Love and Thunder. She seemed to like the idea of “eat my hammer” but wasn’t completely sold on it. So, why did she say to Thor and is he ever going to reveal what it is? It might be one of those things that he passes on to Love but when that will be is also a mystery. There are a lot of things about Jane that will remain a mystery.

6 Is Sif Getting A New Arm?

Most of Thor’s battle friends die in the third movie aka Thor Ragnarok. The only one missing from his crew was Sif who was off-world on some other mission. This is the first time she reappears in the MCU since the second Thor-focused movie.

What was she doing all this time and was it important enough for her to get some sort of spinoff? Also, since she lost an arm, it seems obvious she will get it replaced. Sif might reappear again in the next Black Panther movie since Bucky got a cool new arm from Wakanda.

5 Is Hercules The Only One Zeus Is Sending To Stop Thor?

Who is going to be the final boss of Phase 4 in the MCU? Who will be the next Thanos? Will it be Kang the Conqueror who wants to control all of reality? Will it be Zeus and the other gods? Based on the end credits, it seems like Zeus is indeed ticked off that people worship superheroes now and not gods. He wants to send Hercules to teach Thor and humanity a lesson but will that be all he sends? Will he also create a superhero team of gods sort of like the idea of the Dark Avengers in the comics? That would be a huge event on the scale of a Thanos invasion.

4 Love’s Powers

Gorr changes his mind about killing the gods and wishes for his daughter, Love, to come back to life. As she walks over to her dad on the ground, her reflection in the pool shows Eternity in a smaller shape. It seems like Eternity was reborn inside of Love, meaning that Love and Eternity are now one. This brings up a lot of questions about how that makes sense but let’s leave those questions for now. As Love is the embodiment of Eternity then what powers does she have? Can she make wishes some day or is there something else Eternity had up their sleeve? Maybe she will inherit somethign from Gorr and the Necrosword somehow too.

3 Are There More Evil Swords Out There?

Let’s come back around to the idea of sentient weapons again, specifically looking at the Necrosword. It is not the only cursed blade the MCU has shown off. The first was in Eternals via the final stinger of that movie.

It shows Dane coming home to find the Ebony Blade, another cursed sword that will eventually turn him into the Marvel hero, Black Knight. It might be a stretch to ponder this, but the existence of two swords may point to another idea Marvel will get into in this coming phase of the movies. Are there going to be more swords with varying degrees of powers sort of like the Infinity Stones?

2 Is Jane Really Dead?

Valhalla is joked about several times in Thor: Love and Thunder. Thor tells Sif she can’t get in because she didn’t die on the battlefield but perhaps her arm got in. Gorr doesn’t think Valhalla exists and is an empty promise. It turns out Valhalla is indeed real as Jane appears in there in the final stinger of the movie. Heimdall greets her and says she is welcome to stay. Her face has an odd hesitance as the camera cuts to black. Is this look just a surprised expression or is Jane somehow going to ask to return to Earth as Mighty Thor once again?

1 Will This Lead Right Into Guardians Of The Galaxy Volume 3?

The trailers for Thor: Love and Thunder showed off a lot of the Guardians of the Galaxy in the movie. It turns out this was cut right from the beginning of it, meaning the heroes didn’t play a huge role. Thor leaves Starlord as he and his crew venture off to help other people in need who have just lost their gods. Was Gorr truly acting alone or did he have an accomplice that the Guardians of the Galaxy will face? The two films could take place side by side which would make sense. It will be interesting to see if Gamora makes a return somehow too.
