This article will list all the tips and tricks you should use to get the most out of Deezer. You might already be using some of these tricks, but others might be completely new to you. Let’s dive in.

1. Use Deezer to Find a Song’s Name

Occasionally, you probably hear a song you like for the first time and want to know its title and artist. It often happens when scrolling through social media posts like Instagram Reels and TikTok videos, which commonly make songs go viral.

In those instances, you can search for the song on Google using the few phrases you remember or try to identify the song using Shazam. But did you know that Deezer has a similar feature called SongCatcher?

To identify a song playing using SongCatcher, simply tap the Search tab at the bottom of the Deezer app. Then, tap What’s this song?

Afterward, you’ll just have to wait for the app to identify the song. Of course, you can also find songs using Instagram’s audio tab.

2. Switch to Dark Mode

It’s hard to find an app that doesn’t let you switch to dark mode, and fortunately, Deezer isn’t the exception. If most of your apps are set to dark mode, bringing the Deezer app in line only makes sense.

To switch to dark mode, open Deezer on your phone and tap Settings in the top-right corner. Scroll down and tap Display, followed by Dark mode.

If you ever change your mind, you can switch back to Light mode by following the same steps and choosing Light mode instead.

3. See the Artists Behind Your Favorite Songs With Song Credits

Have you ever enjoyed a song so much that you wanted to know who wrote it? You can view song credits on Deezer so that you don’t have to leave the app to search for that information in your browser.

All it takes is a few taps from the player, and you can see who’s behind the song you’re listening to. To view song credits, tap the three-dot menu under the track artwork in the player. Next, tap See song credits on the pop-up menu.

4. Hide Tracks That Are Unavailable in Your Country

Sometimes you run into songs that are unavailable in your country on music streaming platforms, including Deezer. If you’re annoyed every time that happens, you might want to consider hiding those tracks, especially since there’s no point in having them remain visible if you can’t play them anyway.

To hide tracks that aren’t available in your country, open the Deezer app and go to Settings in the top-right corner of the screen. Scroll down to Explicit content, then toggle Hide tracks unavailable in your country on.

5. Get Rid of Explicit Content

If you can’t stomach explicit songs, it might be a good idea to exclude them from your account. To exclude explicit content from your streaming experience, this is what you need to do:

First, open the Deezer app and go to Settings, scroll down and tap Explicit content. Start by toggling on Do not recommend explicit content, which will bring up the option to Hide explicit content. Enable this feature if you don’t want to see explicit songs on your app.

6. Make Your Profile Private

While we all believe we have the best music taste, we don’t always want people to know what we’re listening to. If you’re a private person, you’ll be pleased to know that you can make your Deezer profile private and hidden, allowing you to manage playlists privately.

To make your Deezer profile private, go to Settings, scroll down and, under Privacy settings, toggle Private profile on.

And that’s it. Now you know the only person who can see your listening history on Deezer is you.

7. Listen to Your Favorite Songs Offline

If you’re a Premium subscriber, you can download your favorite music and listen to it offline. This feature comes in handy when you’re in an area with a spotty network connection or if you just want to save data.

You can download songs, playlists, albums, and even podcasts. To start downloading your favorite tunes, go to the Favorites tab and tap the song or album you want to download. Tap the three-dot menu to the right of the track or album, followed by Download on the menu that pops up.

8. Sing Along With Song Lyrics

Who doesn’t enjoy singing along to their favorite songs? Deezer can show the lyrics of your favorite songs.

Find the song you want to play via the Search, Favorites, or Music tabs. Tap the song to start playing it. Open the player and tap Lyrics in the bottom-right corner of the artwork.

The feature highlights the part of the song that’s playing, so you can keep up. If the song resonates with you, you can share the lyrics with friends and on social media.

All you have to do is tap the Share button in the bottom-right corner of the screen while the lyrics are open, then tap the sharing option you want to use. Now tap the contact you want to send the song lyrics to, or finish uploading the lyrics in the social media app you’ve opened.

Explore What Deezer Has to Offer

While streaming apps are fundamentally similar in allowing you to listen to music, each platform is different. The truth is, we often gravitate towards what we’re used to. But to appreciate an app, you have to give it a fair chance and take the time to explore it.

Use these tips to get to know and understand the Deezer app and all the features that make it stand out. Who knows? You might prefer it over some of the most popular music streaming apps you’re used to.
